Poems to Aubrey

AUBREY, HOLD MY HAND

Watching you grow up with your enchanting smile,
Made this world and my life certainly worthwhile.
You are so special, enthusiastic, talented and bright.
Being with you has always been a delight.

Grandchildren have a very unique touch…
They know how to smile and give so very much
of their most valuable gift… a child’s love
to their Grandparents, like Angels from above.

All over, prayers are being said day and night
As your family and friends stand vigil by your bedside.
11-22-02 is now OUR unforgettable date!
Still, we must be patient, with courage and wait.

You look so tiny, so delicate, helpless and frail,
So different from the healthy, vibrant young lady
Strong, shining, precocious, never to give up and fail.
It’s almost as if you are again – a precious small baby.

When I gaze upon your stunning beautiful face,
See your rosy cheeks, smooth silky skin and soulful eyes,
I cannot understand why all of this has taken place.
I look away to save my tears, while my heart cries.

Your wistful eyes talk even though your voice does not.
I know you hear our voices and know you understand
That you family is by your side, hour after hour to
give you love, fill your needs, while WE HOLD YOUR HAND.

When I see a tear, trickling down your cheek
My heart aches to help you, Oh GOD, PLEASE LET HER SPEAK!
I play music, sing, pray, and try to ease your pain
God, oh God, please bring you back to us, healed whole again.

Each little move we take for granted is a great struggle for you,
You perspire; try so hard, and then we hear your sighs.
Your accomplishment is immense compared to others.
I stiffen up, hide my tears … while my heart cries.

Boredom, depression must surely come your way
As you lie in the hospital bed, day after day.
You battle one battle after another of a medical attack,
Yet you fight, use your strength, showing that YOU WILL BE BACK.

I watch the tender touch and care of your Father and your Mother,
And see the love and devotion of your Sister and your Brother.
God walks with our family and knows the pain endured,
While we have faith, waiting, waiting for you to be cured.

You will be healed! We’ll see you sitting up talking
or going to your favorite place, using your legs walking.
Eating, smiling, Oh, What a glorious day that will be!
Everyone will see and hear us rejoicing happily!

Meanwhile,

I must give more, do more, being sure all comes from the heart,
To help others, and be strong and not fall apart.
God, I will pray and be patient, as patient as can be,
Just as long as you bring Aubrey back to me.

AUBREY, if I could trade with you, let ME lie there in the bed,
Let ME be the victim with the injury to MY head –
I would be there for you and know you’d understand
How much I truly love you, and then, YOU COULD HOLD MY HAND.

With All My Love, From My Heart,
Grandma Carolyn

Dear Lord,

Please hear our prayers, our pleas, our cries……Heal Sweet Aubrey.

Bring her healed, back home to her family, we ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen

"Your Smile"

It shines down on me like a warm sunny day
All the hello's and I love yours it seems to say

I'm sad when it rains cause the sunshine is gone.
But when you smile, its all said and done

Your eyes make it brighter than it actually appears.
They sparkle and shine and dry up my tears.

To think that your there and I'm back here
Brings pain and a whole new meaning to fear.

But I know you will heal with patience and time
And confidence in you will help with this trial.

But even though I'm not there in your dreams I'll walk with you.
And those miles and miles will always end with-
Your Smile.

Stay Strong Aub!!!
Love you,
TAY

Aubrey

by Whitney Pearson

You are the rock I stand on

You always build me up

Even though you don't need to

You help me fill my cup

You are always complimentary

Of all the things I do

Because you are the sweetest one

I think I ever knew

No matter what, I'll always love you

And stand by your side

You are so special to me and everyone

No matter what God decides

You are an angel

So precious and pure

And I know your miracle workers

Will someday find a cure

My sun doesn't shine without your smile

So in God I put my trust

He will come through and bring you back

He is so fair and just

Your faith never leaves my heart or mind

You are so beautiful to me

I know you'll be back, you are too strong

Just you wait and see

Aubrey

by Alex Phipps

always there to lend an ear
we could always talk to you.
so many hearts will shed a tear
and pray you make it through.

your kind words could draw a smile
from the loneliest, saddest face.
without you here it's not worthwhile,
there's still an empty space.

you know you're missed to very much,
your strength, your light, your soul,
all the hearts and lives you've touched,
your absence leaves a hole.

we're waiting for you; we need you here,
though God's taking care from above.
He's watching you and keeping you near.
we miss you Aub, and you'll always have our love

Aubrey
   by Hayley Peck

I've never been so scared,
It's never been so real,
I don't know what to think,
I'm not sure how to feel.

You've always been so strong,
But now you seem so weak,
Through blurry eyes I look at you,
My tear falls on your cheek.

As my hand wipes it away,
I feel your face so warm,
Even in your sickness,
Your beauty's still in perfect form.

I think about the good times,
To my side you always came,
As I feel impatient,
To be sharing those moments again.

But I know we'll share them soon,
For your strength has never ceased to amaze,
And God, our rock is sitting with you,
He'll get you through this phase.

You've always been an inspiration to me,
And even more my friend,
And when I am in need,
Your love you always lend.

I miss you all the time,
But our friendship will keep going strong,
Because I know that you are coming home,
I know it won't be long.

So every night on bended knee,
I pray for your recovery,
And when everyone sees your miracle,
That God will be their discovery.

I love you, Aub!

*God Loves You*

Aub~Bob
by Jenna Ward

"The day it happened"

As I walked through the halls
I could see the look upon everyone’s faces,
and me not knowing what had happened
I went on to class just to find out
something I didn't want to hear
As I sat there thinking to myself,
I thought this can't be happening,
not now, and not to Aubrey
While I sat with Whitney and Kolt
at the hospital that afternoon,
I realized how much Aub-Bob was loved
I sat as the days went by, and then the weeks
I knew in my heart that she will pull through
And in the end everything would be back to normal
As it was in the beginning, with Aubrey by our sides!

LOVE YA! AUB~BOB

Your Eyes
by Taylor Roberts

Your eyes always shone bright
even through the darkest days

and when I seemed lost
they helped me find my way

I lose myself every time into
that sea of blue and green

and every time I find myself I
wasn't there lost long enough
is how always seems

the way they danced when you laughed
cast a spell on me

and I never want to leave their gaze
cause I know that's where I want to be

so when you come back down my angel
and how soon I know it will be

I'll be there to meet your stare as your
heavenly eyes shine back at me.

I love you Aub,
your cowboy,

TAY

The night before the tragedy-
Carmen Briggs

There we stood, in the halls of Wal-Mart talking like we always did.
You were encouraging me to tumble with you.
I told you that i would, knowing in my heart I wouldn't.
You had always been the one that stuck beside me through all the messes that I seemed to get myself in.
You always told me that i could get back into the routine that I loved and missed so much.
But knowing how I had pushed myself away from all of those things I enjoyed.
I knew i could never get back to that point in my life again.
And now I want to be there for you.
As strongly as you were for me.
I know your going to pull through this with all the love and support you have from so many wonderful people.
Just know we're all praying for you and are waiting for the day when we can see you again.
Until then...THANK YOU for YOUR love and support you've given me.
I love you.

From Inside the Glass
By: Ralph Peck

I see the tender looks upon each face,
The soft drawn anxious wanderings as you gaze
Within my eyes and on my life so rare
The warmth of your bright feelings the depth of every prayer. From inside the glass I am a bird,
Singing, flying, gaily sweeping
Across hills and trees, I see
You weeping there in front of me, below me,
As my heart flies to the sky all these things
I see
From inside the glass.

The sands on the beach are warm between my toes,
The sun is bright no matter the hour
The grass is green here, green inside the glass
The water just right for swimming, the air just right
For breathing, here I see you come to me again
And know that I see you, lost in your eyes, but
I know where I am, within this wonderful
Land of depth and earth filled memories
As my heart it flies, to the sky
I see
From inside the glass.

Never alone, always in comfort, the feelings here
Are more than one should feel, the love is
Like a blanket wrapped around me, the joy
In my being is strength for you, for each of you,
I hold His hand here, here inside the glass
He has never let me fall, He holds me at his side, His light is Holy Together we watch, and feel, and know each earnest prayer He is holding my hand while you wait, And my heart flies, to the sky I see From inside the glass.

"Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart."

-Psalm 37:4
